Postdoctoral Fellow
Samuel Delage is a postdoctoral fellow at the Woodin Lab. He holds an undergraduate degree in Human Biology and Genome Biology from the University of Toronto.
He obtained his PhD in molecular biology and genetics from the University of Toronto, where he studied tissue-specific differences in the localization of SPARC, a calcium-binding matricellular glycoprotein. Using the genetic advantages of Drosophila and techniques such as immunohistochemistry, western blotting and electron microscopy, Samuel unmasked basement membrane-dependent and independent functions of SPARC. He brings his molecular biology and biochemical expertise to aid in ongoing projects in the Woodin Lab.
Beyond his scientific contributions, Samuel takes pride in teaching, where he has served as a Teaching Assistant in 7 different courses at the University of Toronto. Outside of an academic setting, he enjoys spending time outdoors cycling and hiking.
