Postdoctoral Fellow
Vineeth is a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Melanie Woodin’s lab and is working on enhancing the function of potassium-chloride cotransporter-2 (KCC2) protein in neurons by targeting protein-protein interactions (PPI). He graduated from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research-Kolkata (IISER-K) with a Bachelor of Science-Master of Science (BS-MS) dual degree, majoring in Biological Sciences. His Master’s research focused on the role of gap junction proteins (connexins) in maintaining neural homeostasis and myelination. He joined the Woodin lab in 2018 and is studying the regulation of KCC2 by its interactome. In addition to this, he is also validating PPI inhibitors that can restore KCC2 function and synaptic inhibition in adult neurons.
